MACHINE GUN. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 6922. Bbl. 9 9/10". Standard MP-40 sights with hooded front. Resting bar is unmarked & has a matte black appearance but all other visible parts are matching including firing pin. Iconic & very fine example of Germany's most famous WW2 submachine gun. A favorite souvenir of WW2 American GI's, the MP-40 is well regarded for its ease of shooting & slow rate of fire. This example bears a "bnz42" code denoting 1942 mfr. by Steyr. Charging handle has "ayf" code but balance of parts bear eagle "623" inspection stamps for Steyr. Registration paperwork lists "GERMANY" as manufacturer. Under Folding stock. Bakelite furniture. M1 Carbine style sling present with hardware is arranged for left handed shooter. MAGS: 1-32 rd. marked "kur 42" at rear. CONDITION: furniture shows a couple spots of shallow chipping, some dings, scuffing & handling marks. Stock lockup has light play but is overall very good. Metal retains 50-60% original blue with a couple small spots of light pitting, scattered thinning, fading to brown, light oxidation, edge wear & handling marks.
